Chapter Sixteen
Jordan remembered that right after Christmas, there were try-outs for the spring musical. This year, Ms. Amy Davis would direct Camelot as their spring musical, and Jordan got the lead. There were rehearsals almost every evening. Playing Queen Guinevere was okay, but Jordan wished she could have played King Arthur or Sir Lancelot. They got to kiss the girls. At least she got to see Amy at every rehearsal, though Jordan had to rush home afterward to complete her homework. Because it was the end of her senior year, she had term papers to complete in two classes, and they required a lot of reading and research. Jordan and Amy tried to find at least once a week where they could be alone together. Her feelings for Amy had been growing stronger. She had been finding her love for bondage through Amyâs play. It was hard to keep her concentration on school and the musical.
The spring musical was a huge success, and everyone thought Jordan and Roger Wilks were the perfect Guinevere and Arthur. Jordan didnât enjoy kissing Roger throughout the play, so she kept imagining it was Amyâs lips she was kissing.
Two weeks after the show was the senior prom, and of course, Roger asked Jordan to go with him. Because she had been so wrapped up in exams and the musical, she had forgotten all about the prom. Roger really wasnât her first choice in a date, but then again, Amy couldnât be. She didnât want to go alone; hell, it was senior prom, the one event in a lifetime. And everyone had seen the musical, so would have no problem assuming Roger and her were a thing.
âIâve got to go find a gown to wear,â Jordan groused one day to Amy.
âWhat do you want?â
âAnything. Mom says to wear the one they bought Judy two years ago, and no one will remember it. They said theyâd already put out enough for me to apply to colleges and donât want to spend more money. I donât know why they treat me as if Iâm a burden. This is my last year of high school. Iâll be moving out of their house, and theyâll be rid of me. No more money squandered on their failing child. Maybe I should just stay home or spend prom with you.â Jordan fell into Amyâs body with tears rolling down her face.
Amy wrapped her arms around her, âHush now. You deserve all the riches of the world. You have worked hard for this. Now quit your crying and letâs see what we can do.â Amy brushed the tears from Jordanâs cheeks. âWhy not wear your Queen Guinevere dress? You are a queen in my book,â Amy suggested.
Jordan frowned.
âLetâs take a look at it and see what can be done,â Amy said. âBring Judyâs dress over, and weâll see if we can combine them.â
Jordan rushed home to retrieve the dresses. When she returned, Amy had made a cup of cocoa for the both of them and had gathered her sewing materials onto a table in the living room.
